In 1967 residents of Australia were given the opportunity to win a trip to Hollywood to meet Doris Day. Three girls who lost the contest were so disappointed they took matters into their own hands. They decided to pay their own way to Hollywood in the hopes of still getting to meet Doris. When they arrived, they were so honest about being non-winners that Doris hostessed a breakfast for them. The funny thing is the actual winner of the contest never showed up to claim their prize.
