Maffia in the Mafia

When filming Come September in Italy, Bobby Darin spread a rumour around his hotel that his road manager, Charlie Maffia, was a well known American gangster in hiding. The staff were whispering about it the whole trip. Charlie wasn’t of course but he did look like actor, George Raft, who was known for playing gangsters in films.
